UPDATED: Body found in Sydney bushlands, believed to be Pillay Sanjaey

UPDATE, 6 Sept: Following inquiries, including an aerial and land search of the Campbelltown area, the body of a man, believed to be missing person Pillay Sanjaey, has been located.

Whilst he is yet to be formally identified, the body was found in bushland near Raby at around 3.30 PM on Monday, 5 September.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command had begun an investigation to locate the 27-year-old nearly two weeks ago and had issued a re-appeal for information yesterday.

It was then referred to Campbelltown Police Area Command.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

UPDATE, 5 Sept: Police are re-appealing for assistance to find Pillay Sanjaey, who has been missing since 25 August.

He was last seen exiting a rideshare vehicle on Thunderbolt Drive at Raby.

The 27-year-old is described as being of Indian/Sub-continental appearance, between 180cm and 188cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

Since he was reported missing, a coordinated search of bushland near Kooringa Reserve, St Andrews, involving specialist police, State Emergency Service (SES) and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews has been underway.

Police hold serious concerns for Pillay’s welfare as his disappearance is out of character.

The search continues.

 


26 August: A search is underway to locate Pillay Sanjaey, who is missing from Parramatta.

The 27-year-old is described as being of Indian/Sub-continental appearance, between 180cm and 188cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded jumper, yellow hat, and black backpack.

There are serious concerns for Pillay’s welfare as his disappearance is out of character. Authorities were contacted after he failed to contact family or friends and was not located at his residence in Parramatta

Anyone with information into Pillay’s whereabouts is urged to contact Parramatta Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
