The Offbeat Sari

Colour, creativity and culture are gracing Liverpool Powerhouse this summer! 💫

Featuring over 50 contemporary saris from designers, wearers and craftspeople in India, the exhibition dives into the innovations and social shifts reshaping how the sari is designed, made and worn. The exhibition also presents couture pieces worn by celebrities from Bollywood to Hollywood alongside a range of styles seen on the streets of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and beyond.

Alongside The Offbeat Sari, ‘The Dressing Room’ brings together South Asian diasporic artists in Australia in an intimate contemporary art exhibition exploring identity and traditions. 🥻

The Offbeat Sari is a touring exhibition by the Design Museum, London, conceived and curated by Priya Khanchandani.
