Last Year the Friends of The Children’s RCH Good Friday Walk raised funds that enabled them to present a gaymer hypothermia device to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Every year this RCH Good Friday Walk is held on Good Friday, which is a 28km walk from Clayton railway station to Melbourne Convention and Entertainment Centre, also called Jeff’s shed.

Generally the participants reach their destination at around 3.30-4pm and present the cheque of their total collection to the Good Friday Appeal authorities on live national television at around 4.30pm.

“We try to make these events more of a family picnic where people meet and enjoy the day by contributing something towards the community,” said Shashi Kochaar (JP) of the event. “This year again we need lots of volunteers for intersections as well, as to take part in the walk. So far in our history of sixteen years we have collected and donated more than $300,000 towards Melbourne Children’s Hospitals and national and international natural disasters”.

This year’s Good Friday Walk will be held on Friday 18th April between 9am-4pm. Volunteers can get more information from the website www.friendsofthechildren.org.au
