Congratulations to all recipients in The Queen’s Birthday 2015 honours list

MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

 
Professor Brij Vilash LAL AM, ACT 
For significant service to education, through the preservation and teaching of Pacific history, as a scholar, author and commentator.

Professor Lal is currently an academic in Pacific and Asian History and Deputy Director, School of Culture, History and Language at the Australian National University.

 

MEDAL (OAM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

 
Mr Albert Peter Da CRUZ OAM, NSW
For service to the community of Western Australia through multicultural organisations.

Mr Da Cruz has been a patron of the Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) since 2008, is a former Vice-President of the organisation and a founding member of the society in 1970.

 
Dr Ashim Kumar MAJUMDAR OAM, Qld 
For service to the Indian community of Queensland.
Dr Kumar is a current patron of the Bengali Society of Queensland and was the organisation’s founding President in the early 1990s.
 
Dr Shiva PRAKASH OAM, NSW
For service to medicine as a general practitioner.

Dr Prakash has been a General Practitioner in the Penrith District for over 40 years and is the founding director and chair of the Nepean Blue Mountains Medicare Local.

 
The late Mr Hiro (Harry) PAMAMULL OAM,  Vic 
For service to the Indian community of Victoria.
The late Harry Pamamull was a benefactor and founder of the Shirdi Sai Sansthan Saibaba Mandir (temple) in Melbourne and the inaugural President of the Sindhi Association of Victoria.

PUBLIC SERVICE MEDAL

 
Dr Kamal PURI, Vic

For outstanding public service in meteorological science, particularly Numerical Weather Prediction
Dr Puri has been a noted figure in numerical weather prediction and earth systems modelling to the Bureau of Meteorology for the last four decades.
