The Indian Cultural Society NT, ICS Darwin, recently hosted a great cultural event called India@Mindil
The event featured Indian singing, dance, music and cultural celebrations with around 25-30 acts ranging from Gujarati, Odissi, Bhangra and Bollywood, to Rajasthani, South Indian, rock bands, indigenous music and so on. More than 100 people performed as part of the festivities.
A dance group accompanied by live classical music also came to perform after being sent to Australia by the Government of India.
More than 10,000 people enjoyed this free event.
Ankit Srivastava and his wife Anshita performed an Indian folk dance “Dandiya of Gujarat” and also a Bollywood fusion dance.
