Geetanjali Shree in Conversation – Sydney Writers Festival

Renowned for her lingustic and structural creativity, International Booker Prize winner Geetanjali Shree graces us with an evening of masterclass storytelling at Sydney Writers’ Festival.
In this special evening event, Geetanjali reflects on her decades-long literary career, spanning novels, plays and short stories, including her International Booker Prize-winning Tomb of Sand and her newly translated novels, Our City That Year and The Roof Beneath Their Feet, in conversation with Roanna Gonsalves.
Geetanjali received the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation, for her novel, Tomb of Sand (Ret Samadhi) which was shortlisted for the Emile Guimet Prize. She is also the winner of the 2025 Luna Virino International award for women achievers. Acclaimed for her highly experimental and lyrical writing, her work is translated into many Indian and foreign languages.
