Melbourne’s Rampal Reddy Muthyala hosts a dinner for the community to show support for a Liberal government re-election
Rampal Reddy Muthyala, a strong Liberal party supporter and Treasurer of the Goldstein FEC, Bentleigh SEC and Bentleigh branch President, organised a special dinner with Member for Aston Alan Tudge, representing Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on Tuesday 28 June to support the re-election of the Liberal party.
The dinner, held at Brothers Banquet Springvale, was also attended by Andrew Robb AO, MP (Special envoy for Trade and Investment), Michael Kroger (President Liberal Party of Australia, Victorian division), Inga Peulich MLC (Victorian Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs), Member for Mount Waverley Michael Gidley and local Liberal candidates.
The evening began with the singing of the national anthems of Australia and India. Rampal Muthyala thanked the Liberal party for giving him the opportunity to organise the dinner within the space of just a week. He was overwhelmed with the gracious presence of so mant Ministers, Members of Parliament from both State and Federal levels, and the candidates.
In her speech, Helen Kroger, Liberal candidate for Bruce, thanked Mr and Mrs Rampal Muthyala for their support.
Alan Tudge appreciated the hard work and support of the Indian communities of Australia in building the economy and announced that a re-elected Coalition government will introduce five-year long stay visa for parents to spend time in Australia with their kids and grandchildren. Supporters welcomed the announcement with great applause.
Michael Kroger congratulated Mr Muthyala for organising the dinner, with around 200 strong supporters and with many Liberal candidates, within a week. He stated that Liberal party is very proud of his effort to support the re-election campaign.
Retiring politican Andrew Robb spoke about his confidence that free trade agreements with India, which he started last year will be signed this year, building strong business relationship between our two countries. He expressed how he was touched by the affection shown to him personally by Rampal and Radika Muthyala and called them true friends to his family. He was delighted with the gesture by them to arrange retirement cake in honour of his service to the great country of Australia.
In her vote of thanks, Inga Peulich said she appreciated the support and affection shown to the party and thanked the hosts for organising a fundraising dinner for the third time in a row. She also acknowledged various Indian community leaders.
