First Peoples Stories From India

We warmly invite you to a rare public conversation with two Adivasi writers from India, Beni Sumer Yanthan and Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar, From (de)colonisation, language preservation and revitalisation, to oral storytelling traditions, this dynamic conversation, facilitated by Sydney-based writer Sunil Badami, will shine a light on the lives of India’s First Peoples.

This event is part of the First Peoples Exchange between Varuna the National Writers’ House in the Blue Mountains, Australia and Sangam House in Bangalore, India.

This event is presented by the Literary Provocations Hub in the School of Arts & Media and generously supported by the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture, UNSW Sydney, Varuna The Writers’ House, Sangam House India and the Maitri Grants, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia.
