Legacy of Guru Nanak: Langgar of Peace, Compassion and Forgiveness

June 1, 2025 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm

This event is a heartfelt celebration of the enduring legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, whose universal teachings of peace, compassion, equality, and selfless service continue to inspire communities around the world. As the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Ji’s message transcends religious boundaries and speaks to the shared human values of love, humility, and unity.

Through this event, we hope to foster deeper interfaith connections, promote mutual respect, and highlight the importance of social harmony in our beautifully diverse state of Victoria. We believe that multiculturalism thrives when communities come together in understanding and spirit, and this day seeks to embody that vision.

The day will feature:
📽️ A short video highlighting the legacy of Guru Nanak
🎤 Speeches from VIPs and community leaders
🤝  A special interfaith presentation on the themes of peace, compassion and forgiveness
✨ Fun and engaging children’s activities
🎶 Soulful Keertan (spiritual hymns) performed by local Sikh musicians
⚔️ Exciting Gatka demonstrations (Traditional Sikh martial arts)
🎀 Turban tying experience to celebrate Sikh identity and inclusivity

🍛 And of course, a traditional Langgar – free vegetarian meals and masala tea for all, served to all, regardless of background or beliefs

Bring your family and friends and be part of a joyful day, celebrating the values that unite us all.
