The Lucky Country – Melbourne Fringe Festival

Fresh off a critically acclaimed season on Gadigal land, The Lucky Country arrives in Naarm for a strictly limited run! This original 65-minute musical mixtape celebrates what it truly means to be Australian funny, heartfelt, and unafraid to dig deep into questions of identity and belonging.

With a score inspired by Aussie legends like Baker Boy, Jimmy Barnes, Kylie, The Seekers, and Electric Fields, six powerhouse performers and a five-piece band (featuring the yidaki) deliver a joyride of stories that will leave you laughing, thinking, and maybe even tearing up.

Created by Vidya Makan (Hamilton, SIX) in collaboration with director Sonya Suares (Into the Woods), and with Heidi Maguire as Musical Director.
