If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last few months you have probably heard of Yashraj Mukhate –the music producer who shot to fame during the COVID lockdown when one of his YouTube remixes went viral.
Still clueless? Think back to when you received the infamous Rasode Me Kaun Tha video through a WhatsApp forward or saw a furious Kokila Ben thumbnail while scrolling through your Facebook feed. Yashraj Mukhate is the mad genius behind this hilarious video that now has over 80 million views on YouTube.
The Aurangabad-based engineering graduate turned musical after his father gifted him an instrument when he was only a toddler.
After completing his degree, with the support of his parents, Yashraj dedicated all his time producing music and posting content online. Undoubtedly, his musical talent coupled with witty video editing has paid off, putting him on the radar alongside popular entertainers like Carryminati and Mostlysane’s Prajakta Kohli.
To dig deeper, I sat down with the Pawri Hori Hai remix creator for a chat. Watch Yashraj Mukhate discuss his journey to fame, his musical influences and ambitions, and his frequent brushes with the Indian film and music industry.
