SUMMARY:Kirtika Kain: Pitch
DESCRIPTION:Contemporary artist Kirtika Kain invites you to immerse in her newest exhibition\, ‘Pitch’ at Campbelltown Arts Centre. \nWith a deep interest in anti-caste movements and the experience of caste in the diaspora\, Kirtika’s art examines these issues through material and studio processes. \nThe new works presented in ‘Pitch’ represent Kirtika’s background as printmaker. The two sides of the ambitious main work are a plate and a print\, with the canvas side having acted as the printing plate for the hessian component. Then\, the smaller tar works that surround the central scrolling work are created as casts of other painted surfaces. \nHer practice is majorly grounded in reflections of caste and identity\, seeking to reimagine both personal and collective narratives. \nCome witness Kirtika’s stunning art which effortlesly carries a rich dialogue between heritage\, memory and identity. \nEntry is free. \nFor more information: Kirtika Kain’s Pitch
