SUMMARY:SHUNDORI - By Naina Sen
DESCRIPTION:  \nDelhi-born artist Naina Sen has spent five years creating an ambitious video installation between India and Australia that asks what it means to be an “Indian woman” today. \nSHUNDORI\, opening at HOTA on October 1\, brings together mythology\, ritual\, contemporary Indian culture\, personal storytelling and the experiences of South Asian women in the diaspora. \nThe multi-channel installation was created collaboratively with more than 500 women across India and the Indian diaspora in Australia. \nNow based between Darwin and New Delhi\, Sen’s own life straddles the two countries\, giving the work a distinctly India-Australia perspective. \nMORE HERE: https://hota.com.au/events/bleach-26-shundori

SUMMARY:The Marginalized – Who is Looking Out for Them? An art exhibition by artist Ryan Michael
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThrough a series of realist paintings\, the exhibition explores inequality\, identity and inclusion\, giving visibility to marginalised and minority communities. Drawing on Ryan’s experiences as an Indian Australian and immigrant\, the works invite audiences to reflect on culture\, race\, gender\, disability and economic circumstance — and the ways these can shape people’s lives and opportunities.\n\n\nMore than an exploration of inequality\, the exhibition encourages empathy\, dialogue and a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
