State of Origin Decider live on the big screen at Macquarie Mall
The most-anticipated State of Origin match in years is on in Brisbane this week – and in Liverpool with the game to be shown live on the new big screen in Macquarie Mall.
“With school holidays on it’s a great opportunity for families to come out and cheer on the Blues as they attempt to defeat the mighty Queensland team,” said Mayor Wendy Waller.
“Council has organised for bean bags to be available and many of the cafes and restaurants on the Mall will be open to provide food and drinks.”
The big screen, which was installed as part of the recently completed Mall upgrade, has been used for movie nights but this is the first time it has been used for a live sporting broadcast.
“It’s a great opportunity for community to come together and share what should be an exciting evening,” Mayor Waller said.
The live coverage of State of Origin Game 3 will be on Wednesday 12 July at 7:30pm AEST with kickoff at 8pm.
