Spring into the Spring Expo

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Celebrate the new season with the Spring Expo at Greenway Park, Carnes Hill on 3 October. There will be free outdoor activities on offer, including gardening workshops, cooking demonstrations and a special outdoor screening of the family favourite, Disney’s Zootopia

Liverpool residents can have their dogs and cats microchipped for free, while local vets and trainers will be offering free advice for pet owners. There will be markets stalls, free fitness sessions with ‘Commando Steve’, face painting for your pooch, and enter the ‘Pets in Pictures’ competition for your chance to win one of three prizes valued at $250 each. The kids will also love the $2 rides and can meet Looney Tunes favourites Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Tweety Bird.

When the sun goes down there will be plenty of food trucks available, offering tasty treats so you and your family can settle in and enjoy the outdoor cinema at 6.45pm.
“Spring Expo is a celebration of the great outdoors and this year we are delighted to have the event at the new location of Greenway Park, Carnes Hill, one of our newest and fastest growing areas,” said Liverpool City Council’s Acting General Manager Michael Cullen.
“There is so much happening in this area now – in July we had former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke open our $35 million Carnes Hill Community & Recreation Precinct, and the new extension of Kurrajong Road from Prestons to Carnes Hill has made access so much easier.

“If you are looking for something inexpensive to do with the kids in the school holidays then bring the whole family down to Greenway Park for Spring Expo – there really is something for everyone,” said Mr Cullen.
“If you have a dog or cat that needs microchipping, then bring it along and one of Council’s Rangers will do it for free; if you want to learn about sustainable gardening or healthy cooking then come along to one of the free workshops.
“If you want to watch a movie under the stars then bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a free outdoor screening of Zootopia.
“There is free parking at the Greenway Park Community Centre, off Carmichael Drive and buses from Liverpool Station.”
The Spring Expo is proudly brought to you by Liverpool City Council and supported by Mounties Group.
