Bahut Hua Samman (Disney+Hotstar)

A satire on the struggles of the youth, Bahut Hua Samman is produced by Yoodle Films, the same house that brought us Axone and Chaman Bahaar. This slice-of-life comedy is the story of a planned bank robbery by broke engineering students and a con man. Helmed by funny man Sanjay Mishra (perhaps you know him as Qureshi from Bluffmaster or Jonny from Total Dhamaal?), the cast consists of Raghav Juyal, Abhishek Chauhan, Namit Das, and Nidhi Singh.

The madness begins streaming on 2 October.

harshad mehta scam 1992

Scam 1992 (SonyLIV)

Based on the book ‘The Scam’ by Debashish Basu and Sucheta Dalal, this biopic series is about the real-life story of Harshad Mehta who was guilty of scams worth over INR 5,000 crore in 1992. Scam: 1992 has been touted Bollywood’s best financial thriller, akin to Wolf of Wall Street and Moneyball. It’s admittedly a little more technical than many would’ve liked, but the strong direction, acting, and writing has made it one for the books – no pun intended!

Scam 1992 starts streaming on 9 October.

Kaali Khuhi (Netflix)

In the early 2000’s, Shabana Azmi terrified us all (in the best way!) as the witch of Makdee, and with Kaali Khuhi, she’s back to terrorise some more kids. Just in time for Halloween, she’s joined by Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Riva Arora. It’s also the most recent addition to Netflix’s horror galore, both successful and unsuccessful, like Ghost Stories and Bulbbul. In Kaali Khuhi, it’s up to a 10-year-old girl to save her family village from ghosts of its past.

Kaali Khuhi starts streaming on 30 October.
