This year’s Sydney Chithirai Festival will feature 20 artists who regularly perform in the Indian Republic Day Parade
The 2015 Sydney Chithirai Festival is supported and sponsored by the Tamil Nadu government’s cultural body “Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manaram”.
The organisation is sending 20 artists, under the chairmanship of leading film music director Deva, to perform Tamil cultural folk dances for the multicultural Australian and Indian communities.
These artists are regularly invited to perform in the Indian Republic Day Parade and other festivals to showcase Tamil culture.
The Sydney Tamil Community’s largest outdoor event takes place on Sunday 22 March.
