$100 for your kid’s sports activities

Parents can claim a $100 voucher for their school-aged children thanks to the NSW Government’s new Active Kids program

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Did you know that parents can claim a $100 voucher for their school-enrolled children thanks to the NSW Government’s new Active Kids program?

Through the program, parents, carers and guardians across NSW will be able to claim a $100 voucher to put towards the registration and participation costs of sport and active recreation activities for their kids.

Every child (4.5 – 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 will be eligible for an Active Kids Voucher.

This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.

With household budgets continually stretched, this is a great way to ensure every child has access to sports and active participation for their health and wellbeing.

From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers of children residing and participating in sport and other approved physical activities in NSW can apply for the voucher online through their MyServiceNSW account, and then redeem the voucher at their local sporting club or approved provider.

Whether your child participates in summer or winter sports or activities, Active Kids vouchers can be used until 31 December so there is no rush to claim.

Parents are encouraged to speak to their local club about registering to be an approved provider.

For more information on the program visit sport.nsw.gov.au/activekids or phone Service NSW on 13 77 88.
